The mission of the ICS is to preserve and promote Iranian culture, customs, art, literature, and the official language. The Society is independent of any political or religious motives or affiliations.

The operation of the ICS is based on free and democratic principles and protocols. All members have the right to vote, express their views and criticisms on Society-related matters, and be nominated for positions within the Society. The Board of Directors (the Board) and its Chairperson are accountable to the membership and are obligated to respond to legitimate concerns and requests.​
