About the Lecturer
Makame Rahimzadeh was born in 1952 in Rasht into a culturally inclined family. She completed her primary and secondary education in the same city. Holding a bachelor's degree in Business Economics from the Higher School of Commerce, she entered the field of education and worked as a high school teacher across the country until 2002. She began writing in 1990 by attending Houshang Golshiri's story-writing workshops. Her first short story, titled "Lead," was published in 1991 in Arghavan magazine, edited by Houshang Golshiri.
Since then, numerous short stories of hers have been published in literary magazines and journals both inside and outside the country, including notable stories like Hasti, The Pink Room, Autumn, and Dandelion, which have been translated and published in Italian, German, and English.
Her novel Yalda and Liberation was among the top 10 novels for the "Mehregan Award" in 2001, and her short story collection The Snail’s Trail was among the top six collections for the "Once Upon a Time" award in 2007.
